I was not a child
I was just another skull to drill a number through
And all my friends have numbers too
Pawns preserved in reverence to poetry of consequence
Protected by the promise of a purpose
In some post-perceptive stew

I was not a person
I was just another insect in a colony
And all my friends worked tirelessly
Carrying the groceries in single file beneath the trees
Selflessly submitting to a cause they´re all
To minuscule to see


Give ´em hits of motivation
Just to grow ´em in a line
Fill their heads with irrigation
Just to pluck ´em off the vine
With this constant stimulation
You could harvest all the time that there ever was
If there ever was such a thing

Feed ´em words of inspiration
Just to make ´em fear the sky
Stuff their lives with complication
So they´ll never ask us why
With this perfect simulation
They will buy all the time that there ever was
If there ever was such a thing

Now your gnarled hands no longer feel
Now your open wounds no longer heal
Round and round in circles throwing pennies in a well
Til there´s no time left to sell
